Scholarship Granting Organization
You can now support MTCES through a donation to a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) and receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Ohio income taxes equal to the amount donated!
The state of Ohio has a tax program called Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGO), which provides a tax credit to Ohio taxpayers who donate to an SGO. If taxpayers donate to an approved SGO, they can receive a credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per donor, or up to $1,500 if married and filing jointly.
How does it work?
1. Review your Ohio tax liability from last year to help estimate the amount of your Ohio tax liability for this year. Ohio taxpayers who donate to SGOs may be able to claim a dollar-for-dollar, non-refundable tax credit on their state income tax return for up to $750 per individual(up to $1,500 if married and filing jointly).
2. Donate online to the CEF-SGO and select “Mother Teresa School” as your designated school.

3. Shortly after your gift has been received and processed, CEF-SGO will mail a gift acknowledgement letter to you. When filing your taxes, mark the box that states you gave to a SGO and the State of Ohio will reduce your taxes. Donations to the SGO must be made by April 15, 2025 in order to qualify for a tax credit on your 2024 Ohio return.
