Every student enrolled at MTCES is eligible to apply for the Moira Vilardo Memorial Scholarship. Moira taught kindergarten at MTCES for five years before passing away suddenly in July 2011. She was magical, and brought a love of learning to every student she taught. Moira continues to touch lives through a scholarship established by her family. Every year, the Vilardo family awards two $500 tuition scholarships, one to a K-3 boy and one to a K-3 girl. The family also awards a full tuition scholarship to one boy in grades 4-8 and one girl in grades 4-8. To apply, students must describe how they exhibit some of Moira's best qualities: respectful, faithful, caring, creative, and industrious. Applications are typically due at the start of the school year.
Every 8th grader enrolled at MTCES is eligible for the PTO Scholarship. To apply, students must submit an essay that best explains how their MTCES education, both spiritual and academic, has developed who they are or how their education will help them succeed in life. One 8th boy and girl will receive a tuition scholarship for the second semester. Applications are typically due early December and PTO announces the winners at the school Christmas program.
Bob and Nelda Ernst, grandparents of MTCES alumni, have been genrerous benefactors of time, talent, and treasure. Their gifts have promoted school growth and their example of leadership is second to none. They have established a scholarship for 8th graders who plan to attend Badin High School and meet the following criteria:
Have a B or C grade point average
Display good work ethic
Are good citizens (participate in community service activities, school or extracurricular leadership activities)
Are well-rounded students
Show great potential even though they may struggle academically.
Four one-time scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded to selected students during the graduation ceremony. For information on the selection process, contact Sr. Anne Schulz at sranne [at] mtces [dot] org.
