A list of questions from prospective families and current families
Do you offer before or after school care?
Our school day is from 7:45 AM-2:20 PM. We offer After-School Care from 2:20 PM-6:00 PM. We do not offer
Before-School Care, however students may be dropped off as early as 7:20 AM.
Do you offer transportation?
Bus transportation to and from MTCES may be provided by the local school district you reside in. Contact your local
school district's transportation office for more information and to register your student for bus service. Currently, Lakota,
Mason, and Monroe school districts provide busing for MTCES students.
What are your class sizes?
In kindergarten, there are four classes of 19 students per class. In grades 1-8, there are three classes of 25 per class.
What is your admissions priority policy?
Refer to our Admissions Policy on page 2 of the Registration Packet.
When can I enroll my child?
Early Kindergarten Registration is open from November 04, 2024 - December 6, 2024. Registration for grades 1-8 and any kindergarteners that missed early registration occurs from January 30, 2025 - February 28, 2025. Applications for new students are submitted in person. You will receive communication of admittance by the end of March. If you would like to receive email reminders and information about the upcoming enrollment window, contact the Director of Enrollment & Engagement, Molly Hinker (mhinker@mtces.org) to be added to the prospective parent email list.
Do you accept new enrollments mid-year?
If there is space available in the grade you're interested in, we do accept new students on a limited basis throughout the school year.
Do I have to be Catholic to attend MTCES?
Students of all faiths are welcome at MTCES. Currently, 15% of our students practice outside of the Catholic faith. Our students come from a variety of religious and cultural backgrounds.
Do you accommodate students with IEPs?
MTCES offers a variety of resources and services, and we do accommodate students with IEPs. Our principal, with the helpof our intervention team, will review your child's IEP to ensure we can provide the necessary assistance. If we are unable to meet your student's needs, we would be happy to refer you to neighboring schools with more appropriate support in place. MTCES is a Jon Peterson Scholarship provider, which allows students with an IEP to receive state funding for services.
What Specials and elective classes are offered?
MTCES offers Specials classes to all students in grades K-6.
They include:
- Art (once a week)
- Music (once a week)
- Physical Education (two times per week)
- Spanish (once a week K-5, twice a week grades 6, 7, and 8)
- Library (K-5)
MTCES offers electives to grades 7 & 8. Students will attend the elective of their choice 4 times per week for one trimester and then they will switch. A PE elective must be taken for at least 1 trimester.
Elective choices for the 2024-2025 school year include:
- Ukulele
- World Drumming
- Music Theory with Recorder
- Printmaking
- Intro to Drawing
- Ceramics
- Google Apps Deep Dive
- Presentations with Google Slides
- Technology Integrated Research
- Personal Wellness
- Team Sports
How do I qualify for tuition assistance?
MTCES is an Edchoice Provider. If further assistance is needed beyond Edchoice Scholarships, MTCES offers tuition assistance. For more information please contact Meredith Meyer at scholarships@mtces.org.
