Local Elementary School Announces
Appointment of New Assistant Principal
Liberty Township, OH (May 26, 2020) – Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School (MTCES) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Michelle Hinton as the next Assistant Principal of the school effective July 1, 2020. Mrs. Hinton brings a wealth of teaching and administrative experience to the position, having served in Catholic schools for several years and at the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Catholic Schools Office.
Mrs. Hinton earned a Master of Education in Administration from Xavier University and a Masters Level Teacher Certification from Antioch University McGregor. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from Miami University.
Mrs. Hinton describes herself as a proud, passionate Catholic educator. For the last 18 years, she served in Catholic schools teaching social studies and religion at the high school and elementary levels. She was both Assistant Principal and Principal at St. James the Greater School before working at the Archdiocese Catholic School Office as the Assistant Superintendent, Director of Secondary Schools & Professional Development. Most recently, Mrs. Hinton was a member of the leadership team at Mercy McAuley High School, serving as the Assistant Principal prior to becoming the Director of Mission & Ministry.
“Over the past several years, I have come to realize that where I feel my gifts and talents are best utilized and where I am the most fully alive is in a Catholic elementary school,” explained Mrs. Hinton. When asked about her educational philosophy, Mrs. Hinton will tell you that she believes all students can learn at high levels and every student deserves to be challenged to grow in skills and knowledge in order to achieve his/her potential. She finds that schools succeed when faculty, staff, students, parents, and administration work collaboratively toward bringing the school’s mission to life.
“I am thrilled to be a part of a school community founded on the belief that we are all called to serve just at Mother Teresa served,” said Mrs. Hinton. “I look forward to serving our school community and ensuring that every staff member and student can achieve personal success.” "I am excited to have Michelle join the MTCES team!” added Aideen Briggs, Principal and CEO of MTCES. “She has extensive training and experience in professional learning communities, and this will be vital to the success of the school as we continue to grow."
MTCES, a 2018 Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, is one of only three independent, private Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. A group of 20 families, concerned about the unavailability of Catholic education opportunities in the Butler-Warren, Ohio region, founded the school in 1998. MTCES has built a permanent home on a 25-acre campus in Liberty Township. The state-of-the-art facility opened a new academic wing in the 2016-17 school year, and currently serves 542 students.
